Businesses COVID-19 support

Although public safety is the government's top priority, advice and funding is available to support businesses plan and reduce the effect on their operations as much as possible.

Please note: due to the rapidly evolving nature of the COVID-19 outbreak this page will be updated on a regular basis with information and guidance for businesses and employers. If you need to contact us to discuss business support please email info@sholland.gov.uk or call 01775 761161.

Support for businesses asked to close as a result of the national lockdown

Following the announcement today (5 January 2021) concerning further Government grant support for businesses mandated to close as a result of the forthcoming period of new national restrictions, we're currently awaiting further information from government on the funding available and the eligibility criteria. As soon as more detail is released from Government, we will update these COVID Business Support web pages with further information. Please keep a close eye on our website and social media channels in the coming days.

For businesses that are currently not currently mandated to close by law, but can demonstrate that they have been significantly impacted by recent periods of local and national restrictions, the council is inviting applications from businesses for grant support. See details of our Local Restrictions Grant Scheme for open businesses.

Following the announcement by the Prime Minister in early December 2020 in respect of a one-off £1,000 grant payment for 'wet pubs', we are currently contacting likely eligible businesses directly. If you feel that you are eligible for this support, but are yet to hear from us, then please contact the team via businessgrants@sholland.gov.uk, marking your email subject as 'Wet Pub Grant'.
