Business rates (or National Non Domestic Rates NNDR) are charged on most non domestic properties which attract a rateable value. Business rates are set by central government and go towards paying for services provided by the local council such as street lighting, road maintenance and planning.
Breckland and South Holland Councils have teamed together to launch a new training company named Environmental Health Consultancy. The new company will operate across Lincolnshire Norfolk and Cambridgeshire with courses and training including the following: Food Safety Training, Food Hygiene Training, Health and Safety Training, Licensing Training, Manual Handling, Food Consultancy, Health and Safety Consultancy, and Noise Consultancy.
We are responsible for inspecting all food establishments within our district, but not all businesses will receive a National Food Hygiene rating only those selling food directly to the public
The Health and Safety Unit within the Council carries out regular checks on offices, shops, warehouses, places used for leisure activities and other non-industrial premises. (The Health and Safety Executive deal with factories and other industrial operations). This ensures that safe and healthy working conditions are provided for all employees, the self-employed and members of the public visiting these premises
South Holland District Council provides licences for Alcohol & Entertainment, Taxis, Gambling, Animal Welfare, Street Trading Consent, Charity collections, Scrap Metal Dealers and Sex Establishments
