Details of SHDC's rubbish and recycling collections Refuse and recycling: We are expecting to resume normal waste collection services from Monday 5 March, so: If your black or green bag is due to be collected on Monday 5 March, please place it out as usual. If your black or green bag was missed this week due to the weather, please keep bags safe and secure on your own property (in their usual storage place) until your usual collection day, when we ask you to put them out again for collection. If icy conditions continue, or worsen, we will update you if there is continued disruption Please remember to ensure your black or green bags are put out for collection by 6.00am, but no earlier than 6pm the night before. The Council is responsible for the sweeping and removal of litter from public highways and areas of land under its responsibility
The Council undertakes landscaping in parks and open spaces, including routine cutting of grass in urban areas together with tree and hedge pruning and shrub and rose bed maintenance. Please note that highway grass verges alongside adopted roads and footpaths are the responsibility of Lincolnshire County Council Highways.
Towns grew up around the site of regular markets. Many of today's thriving communities owe their existence to the market in their midst. Markets in South Holland are held in Spalding, Crowland, Holbeach and Long Sutton.
Charges for South Holland District Council car parks apply Monday to Saturday from 8.00am to 6.00pm (unless otherwise stated).
The council maintains a number of public toilets across the district which are accessible seven days a week.
