Pride Flag Raising
On Monday, 2nd June 2025, at 10:00am, the Chairman of South Holland District Council (SHDC) proudly raised the Pride Flag outside the council offices, marking the beginning of Pride Month and reaffirming the council's commitment to inclusivity, equality, and support for the LGBTQ+ community.

The ceremony was attended by council members, staff, who gathered to show their solidarity and celebrate diversity across the district.

In a heartfelt speech, the Chairman spoke about the importance of recognising and respecting the rights of all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

She highlighted the progress made in recent years, while also acknowledging the work still to be done to ensure that everyone feels safe, valued, and included in society. Her words were met with warm appreciation from those in attendance.

In a further demonstration of the council's dedication to inclusivity, the Chairman also raised the Autistic Pride Flag, showing support for the autistic community and promoting greater awareness and understanding of neurodiversity.
This gesture underscored SHDC's commitment to championing the rights and voices of all residents, and to fostering a community where everyone can thrive.
