The right to data portability

You have the right to ask for your personal information to be given back to you, or another service provider of your choice, in a commonly used format.

This is called data portability. However this only applies if we're using your personal information with consent or in the performance of a contract (not if we're required to by law) and the data is only processed electronically.

It's unlikely that data portability will apply to the services you receive from the council, but if you think that this is relevant please contact us, our email is legal.team@breckland-sholland.gov.uk

Remember, you also have the right to see a copy of the information we hold about you - this is called a Subject Access Request
