Our Current Chairman of the Council is Councillor Paul Redgate

Councillor Paul Redgate was elected as Chairman of the Council on 19th May 2021.  He represents the Ward of Whaplode and Holbeach St Johns, a rural ward which covers many villages in the District (Dowsdale Bank, Shepeau Stow, Whaplode Drove, Holbeach Drove, Holbeach St Johns, Whaplode St Catherine, Whaplode, Saracens Head).


Paul was born and raised in Nottingham and Peterborough.  Much of his working life so far has been spent in the construction industry, where he has worked primarily in Infrastructure.  In 2009 he studied Part-Time at Nottingham Trent University to achieve a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and Construction Commercial Management as a mature student.


Paul is an active footballer having played in the Peterborough Leagues and has been a Director at Northamptonshire FA in previous years. Locally he is an active supporter of the Armed Forces as well as an advocate for mental health wellbeing. He also supports the Community Speedwatch Project to make the roads safer in the District.

Paul is keen to engage with the communities and welcomes any invitations to attend events in the District. Please take advantage of this offer of support in all you do.

The main charity the Chairman is supporting is MIND, who provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem and campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding about mental health issues.
