Our approach to procurement

Procurement is the process by which the council purchases the third party supplies, works and services to help us provide all our key services to the public. Procurement is governed by our Constitution's Contract Procedure Rules and wider UK and EU legislation.

We want to deliver the best quality and value services to the public and there is a great opportunity to do this through local businesses. The Government have made reforms to procurement regulations to make public procurement more accessible to SME's and we continue to make improvements to our Procurement Strategy so that we can reward local businesses whenever they offer best value.
