Public flag raising ceremony to recognise Armed Forces Day
South Holland District Council will host a celebration to show appreciation of the work of the Armed Forces at their Priory Road office in Spalding on Monday June 25, with a flag raising ceremony led by the council Chairman Cllr Rodney Grocock.
The event will be held as part of Armed Forces Day, the annual national campaign that gives everyone the opportunity to show their support for the men and women of the Armed Forces past and present, including currently serving troops, Service families, Reservists, veterans and cadets.
South Holland District Council Chairman, Cllr Rodney Grocock, said: "It is always important to recognise the vital work of our Armed Forces, and this promises to be a great occasion bringing together veterans, council members and the public honouring those who work tirelessly to defend the country and its interests."
The flag-raising is free and open to all members of the public to attend. The ceremony will begin at 9.45am, and the flag will remain flying at the Council Offices until after Armed Forces Day itself on Saturday June 30.
