Planning Policy

This section contains information on current and emerging planning policy for the District. It also contains advice on how to use the South East Lincolnshire Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (March 2017) and on applying the Sequential Test for Flood Risk to planning applications.

South East Lincolnshire Local Plan

We are currently producing our new Local Plan jointly with Boston Borough Council and Lincolnshire County Council.

The Plan was submitted to the Secretary of State on 23rd June 2017 and is currently undergoing an Examination in Public. The submitted Plan identifies land, and proposes to allocate sites, for different types of development, such as housing and employment, in order to meet the area's needs, as well as identifying those areas of land which must be protected from development - perhaps because of their historic or environmental importance. It also covers a wide range of other planning related matters in the form of policies, against which planning applications can be judged.

It is estimated that it will be adopted in Spring 2018.

More information can be found on our dedicated website: South East Lincs Local Plan

The SFRA hazard and depth mapping can be accessed via the links below. For the purposes of the Sequential Test, the 2115 (1% fluvial, 0.5% tidal) mapping should be used for both hazard and depth:
