As a tenant of a council property you have a range of rights and responsibilities. These are set out in your tenancy agreement. This tenancy agreement is a legal contract which explains the services you can expect from the council and your obligations.
Sheltered housing is provided for people over 55, or those under 55 who would benefit from living in the communal environment that Sheltered Housing provides.
South Holland District Council will always try to assist tenants with any tenancy issues they may have whether it is rent arrears, or any other aspect of the tenancy conditions.
To be eligible, you must have been a council tenant for at least three years.
South Holland District Council provides a repairs service to all of our tenants. Repairs are carried out by the Council's Construction Services Unit or contractors employed by the Council.
