Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) Consultation
South Holland District Council's Public Space Protection Order is due to expire on 21st December 2023. The current PSPO for Spalding is in place in order to improve the quality of life for those living, working and visiting the area.
The Order can be viewed together with the signage that has been erected in the designated area by clicking on the following link: Public Spaces Protection Order
The PSPO covers:
- from St Thomas's Road North to West Elloe Avenue,
- and from the railway station east to Commercial Road
The following activities are offences within the PSPO:
- Failure to comply with an officer's request to stop drinking alcohol in a PSPO area (The law does not allow for a complete ban on drinking alcohol in a public place).
- Spitting saliva or any other product of the mouth on to the ground
- Dropping litter
- Urinating and defecating
We are proposing to extend the PSPO for three years (until December 2026). We would welcome your views on the current conditions of the PSPO. We would also like to know if there are any other areas that you think should be included that are not included in the current PSPO.
Before completing this consultation, we would recommend that you read through the current PSPO.
We would like you to have your say on the proposed vision, priorities and areas of focus. You can do this by clicking on the following link: https://online1.snapsurveys.com/PSPO
Closing date for submission of responses is Saturday 25 November 2023.
