Consultation open for proposed 2021/22 budget

Posted on 15 January 2021

South Holland District Council wants to hear the opinions of all residents, partner organisations, businesses and other interested parties as part of the 2021/22 budget setting process.

At a meeting of South Holland's Cabinet this week (12 January), councillors discussed the proposed budget for 2021/22 and future financial strategies. The budget proposes a £4.95 a year increase in Council tax for Band D properties for 2021/22 - that's around 41p a month or 10p a week.

Despite uncertainty caused by the pandemic and its potential impact on central government funding, South Holland District Council believes with this small increase it can continue to deliver quality services to residents, including weekly waste and recycling collections.

Having now been discussed by Cabinet, the draft budget is available on the Council's website for people to read and comment on. Local residents and business-owners are invited to submit their comments from 15-29 January. These will then be taken into consideration before the draft budget is discussed at full council in February.
