What to do to get this service
From April 2004 the council no longer treats complaints of pests ourselves. However, we do have a supplier, Pest Express, that offers a reduced rate for pest referrels made by our Customer Services Team. For more information please telephone 01775 761161.
A number of contractors that specialise in pest control can also be found in the yellow pages.
Who can apply?
For Council Tenants, the Councils Housing Department will authorise and arrange payment for treatments for rats and mice (inside the property only), for wasps (in the fabric of the property) and for fleas (in void empty, non-tenanted properties).
All other treatments for Council Tenants will be payable by the tenants themselves.
