Pollution control - contaminated land
How we provide this service
Contaminated land pollution control is supported by Community & Neighbourhood Services, Safety & Environment.
Part 11A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 gave local authorities the responsibility for regulating contaminated land. Part of that duty was to produce a contaminated land strategy detailing how we intend to review and assess land contamination within the District.
South Holland District Council has published:
- Contaminated Land Strategy a copy of which you can download;
- A Guide to developing Contaminated land which you can download.
At present areas of concern are being assessed and prioritised for further investigation under the strategy. As yet there are no contaminated land areas as defined in Part IIA , however this work is an ongoing process.
If you require further advice or have any information about land contamination please contact the Environmental Protection Section of Environmental Health Services.
How much will it cost?
There is a fee for land searches. Contaminated Land Search/Enquiry-£17.00-.
