Gambling act - licensing premises



How we provide this service

The licensing of gambling premises, allocated to Local Authorities under the Gambling Act 2005, which introduced a new regime for regulating gambling and betting in the United Kingdom with effect from 1 September 2007. This service is supported by Community & Neighbourhood Services, Food Safety & Licensing.

Premises which will require a premises licence include:

  • casinos
  • bingo halls
  • adult gaming centres
  • licensed family entertainment centres
  • betting permits for gaming machines in pubs and other alcohol licensed premises.
