Black Sack/Recycling Sack Order

How we provide this service

Provision of refuse sacks or recycling sacks for domestic and recycling waste is supported by Community & Neighbourhood Services, Waste Services.

What to do to get this service

South Holland District Council collects your refuse in black bags on a weekly basis from the curtilage of your property.

For 98% of properties, South Holland District Council also collects recycling in green sacks on a weekly basis from the curtilage of your property.

All households in South Holland are entitled to 52 black sacks and 52 recycling sacks per year (delivered in batches of 26 every six months).

For properties not on the current kerbside recycling scheme, it is our intention that these residents use the delivered recycling sacks as a container to keep materials together, until residents can utilise the bring sites or Household Waste Recycling Centre to recycle their materials. Other residents not on route use the recycling sacks to present their recycling with friends, neighbours or relatives who are on route or at a local point such as outside school, church hall (with their permission). Residents are not encouraged to make special journeys to recycle but to do so in conjunction with other journeys.

If you have just moved in and require a black sack or a recycling sack delivery please contact the Customer Services Team.

If you require more than 52 black sacks within a year they can be purchased at most supermarkets and hardware stores.

If you require more than 52 recycling sacks within a year, any coloured bag (e.g. white swing bin liners) except black/grey sacks can be used. Recycling can also be presented for collection in a suitable rigid container, cardboard boxes or carrier bags.

In addition, residents may also collect 1 roll of sacks (free of charge) from:
a) the Council Offices in Priory Road, Spalding (Monday-Friday)
b) Market House, Long Sutton (Tuesdays and Friday).
c) the libraries in Donington, Crowland and Holbeach

Please try and pack your recycling into the green sacks as much as possible to reduce the number of bags used.

To find out when your next delivery is due, please call our Customer Services Team on (01775) 761161 for more information.

How much will it cost?
