Roadways
The Council currently owns a number of access roads around the South Holland area. These are generally of gravel construction and give access to the rear of properties, sewage treatment sites and garage sites.
The council exclusively own those leading to garages and sewage treatment sites and are responsible for their maintenance. However the roadways that run around to the rear of properties are mostly under mixed ownership. As council properties have been sold pieces of the roadway are sold with them so that the maintenance is down to the home owner. There may be occasions where the council will carry out work on these roadways to improve the areas that we still own. When this occurs the council may offer to include work on the private areas but this would be chargeable.
