Recycling Sacks for Schools



How we provide this service

The provision of recycling sacks to all schools in South Holland to enable participation in the kerbside recycling collections is supported by Environmental Services, Waste Services.

We will deliver recycling sacks to your school which will be emptied on a weekly basis. The collection dates depend on your school address, as different areas are covered on different days.

Please can you make sure that your sacks are out ready by 7:00 AM on the day of your collection.

What to do to get this service

Please contact the Street Scene Co-Ordinator, Neighbourhood Services who will be happy to provide information on starting up a recycling scheme in your school.

Information posters and stickers are also provided on request.

Who can apply?

All schools in South Holland are eligible for this service.

How much will it cost?

Provision/Delivery of recycling sacks and their collection are provided as part of our normal service and do not attract an additional charge.


How long will I have to wait for a response?

We will aim to deliver your sacks within seven days of your request. If they are not delivered within this time please contact our Customer Services Team on 01775 761161.

Common Questions

Q. How many sacks can I have?
A. We normally deliver sufficient sacks for the size of school.

Q. When do I need to make sure our recycling sacks are outside?
A. You need to have your recycling sacks out by 7:00 AM onwards on your day of collection.

Q. What can I put in my recycling sacks?
A. We will collect any materials that could be put out for the weekly recycling service e.g. paper, card, envelopes, tin foil, yoghurt pots, cans, plastic milk bottles, washing-up bottles, phone books, catalogues.

Please note: used paper towels can not be recycled using this service and need to be presented with your normal refuse collection.
