Paying the Council



How we provide this service

Making payments to the council online is supported by Customer Services.

The Council now accepts a wide range of payments online including council tax, business rates, housing rents, debtors invoices, car park fines and many others.

The Council accepts Switch, Visa & Delta Debit Cards for all payments, Also Visa & Mastercard Credit Cards for Bulky Collections & Pests. Please call Customer Services on 01775 761161 to book these.

Other methods of payment include:

  • Home and On-Line Banking
  • Direct Debit (Recommended for Council Tax & Business Rates)
  • By Post
  • In Person

Visit the Payments, Balances & E-billing page of the Council website for detailed information and instructions on making payments by various methods.

You can now pay Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Rents and Debtors Invoices any time, any day! Just call 0845 603 17 14 - your call will be charged at local rate. You can also check your account balances using this service.
