How we provide this service
General information on burials is supported by Environmental Services, Neighbourhood Services.
It is often assumed, quite wrongly, that funerals can be completed only with the use of a funeral director.
Although a funeral director will be invited to organise the majority of funerals, some people prefer to organise funerals themselves. The details in the individual sections of the Charter for the Bereaved gives sufficient information to achieve this. More detailed leaflets giving you local information on arranging a burial or cremation are available from:

** For the purpose of calculating Spalding Cemetery charges a "Parishioner" is defined as residing within the Spalding Special Rate area at the time of death.
Common Questions
Q. A person has died in my home/a property I own and nobody is coming forward to make arrangements for the burial.
A. In certain circumstances if there are no family or friends to take responsibility for the funeral then the District Council will arrange this. Please report the matter immediately to our Environmental Health Department.
