Statutory register - decision notice
How we provide this service
Find out here how to obtain copies of decision notices and details of our records on decision notices. This service is supported by Planning and Development, Planning.
Most decision notices can be supplied to you without a prior appointment. However, if the original decision notice was issued some years ago (before 1995) it may take us a short time to find it. In some cases it may be better for you to email or telephone us with the required information and then pick it up the following day.

What to do to get this service
You can obtain a copy of any decision notice that relates to a planning application. There is no charge for the actual notice but there may be a nominal photocopying charge depending on how many pages there are. Please contact our Customer Service team on 01775 764420. It would be helpful if you had the number of the application but don't worry if you do not have it. With an address or post code and a little time we should be able to find it for you. Common Questions
Q. Can I have a copy of an old Decision Notice?
A. Yes, if we can email you a copy it is free, for more than one decision in paper form there may be a small photocopying charge (20p per A4 sheet).
Q. Do I have to make an appointment to get a Decision Notice?
A. An appointment is not necessary but it would be helpful if you could contact us in advance so that we can have the copy waiting for you.
Q. Can I have the original Decision Notice?
A. No. The original is sent to the applicant via their architect if they have one. The only other copy is left on our files to enable us to make photocopies if required.
Q. How far back do your records go?
A. We have records back to 1947, unfortunately the quality of some decision notices prior to 1977 is not brilliant. Some may be unreadable and therefore we cannot guarantee that they will give the information you need.
