Recruitment and Selection

South Holland District Council welcomes job applications from all parts of the community and is strongly committed to make sure all applicants receive fair and equal treatment.

The Council has a Recruitment and Selection Policy which ensures that the recruitment and selection process is fair and objective and that people are not discriminated against on the basis of race, religion or belief, ethnic origin, nationality, age, gender, sexual orientation or disability.

When shortlisting, assumptions will not be made and only information supplied by the applicant will be measured against the Person Specification. Only applicants who match the 'Essential' criteria of the person specification are able to be shortlisted for interview. Reasons for selecting or rejecting applicants are recorded by the line manager and checked by the Human Resources Team.
