How we provide this service
The Council does not bear the cost of all repairs to your property. This service is supported by Housing, Construction.
What to do to get this service
You will be recharged for the cost of repairs which we consider to be your responsibility - for example where the damage is deliberate. You may also be charged if an Out of Hours repairs has been carried out which is not deemed an emergency.
We will let you know why we are recharging you and how much the cost of the repairs will be. We will then send you an invoice. It is possible to pay for recharged repairs by instalments.
You might be able to claim back the cost of rechargeable repair done through your personal Contents Insurance. It is up to you to check your policy details to see if you are covered for accidental damage.
