How we provide this service
Maintenance of grass areas is supported by Community & Neighbourhood Services, Services.
The Council cuts grass to ensure that people can use roads and pavements safely. Although environmental issues are of paramount concern, grass cutting is actually carried out for highway safety reasons rather than environmental purposes.
What grass won't the Council cut?
We do not cut the grass that is:
*privately owned
*on properties/estates owned by bodies other than the Council
What will the Council Cut?
We will cut the grass on all council owned land, ie:
*verges
*public open space
*parks
*town centres

How often do we cut the grass?
The Council cuts the grass it ownsappromimately sixteen times throughout the summer months.
What to do to get this service
To report a grass area in an open space that needs cutting please call our Customer Services Team on (01775) 761161 with details of the location.
To ensure that recreation areas remain in a well managed state. Please note that grass verges are dealt with by Lincolnshire County Council Highways department who are based in Pode Hole. Their phone number is (01775) 769091.
For grass verge cutting, when you call the Highways department at Lincs County Council they will ask you for the location of the grass verge or recreation area that needs attention.
