REFUSE COLLECTIONS
Each household is entitled to 52 black sacks per year (26 delivered each 6 months). If you have just moved in and require a black sack delivery, please contact the Customer Services team.
Refuse collections are weekly.
RECYCLING
We currently provide a kerbside collection service to the majority of the properties in the district based on environmental, operational and economical reasons, the areas covered being based on the larger accessible groups of houses.
Recycling sacks are emptied weekly and are only for recyclable material. Materials for recycling may be presented in SHDC green sacks, carrier bags, cardboard boxes or a suitable rigid contanier for collection.
PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE UNABLE TO TAKE RECYCLING LEFT OUT IN BLACK SACKS.
To check whether your property is on a recycling route and/or when your collection days are please call our customer services team on 01775 761161.
For more information on what you can recycle see our Recycling Collections pages by following the link below.
Please make the effort to recycle as much of your waste as possible to limit the amount of waste that is taken to landfill, it also helps the environment, takes little time and saves money.
COLLECTION POLICY
All domestic waste/recycling collections are made from the curtilage of your property. This is the point at which your property joins the public highway. In most instances this may be at the end of a garden path or driveway. However for properties on a shared private drive waste must be put at the end of the drive. If in doubt, please contact Neighbourhood Services. If you have difficulty moving your waste to the curtilage see the related link at the bottom of this page.
Please put your refuse and recycling out for collection before 07:00am on the day of your collection.
