Information on Bulky Waste Collection is supported by Environmental Services, Waste Services.
The collection of large items from domestic premises only.
What to do to get this service
To book a Bulky Collection contact Customer Services on (01775) 761161. We are currently working on producing a new online request service, which will be available soon.
Who can apply?
The Bulky Collection service is applicable to residential customers only and is not provided for business customers. Volume is restricted to 3 items of household waste per collection.
Items Suitable For Collection include:
White Goods - exercise machines, washing machines, fridges (emptied), freezers (emptied), tumble dryers, oven/hob, cooker, dehumidifier, radiators, storage heaters (no bricks), microwaves, sunbeds (no tubes), barbeque, bikes (not motor cycles). Piano/organs will also be taken on this service Please note these can only be collected on a Friday.
Non-White Goods - sofas/settee, armchairs, footstool, dressing table, glass panels from wardrobes (must be taped), headboards, ironing board, mattress, mirrors (must be taped), old metal/plastic bins, ottoman, pram/pushchair, shower screen (must be taped), sideboard, sofa bed, stool, television, television stand, table, vacuum cleaners, wardrobes (not fitted - glass doors must be taped), any domestic item that is not a fixture or fitting, bed, bookcase, cabinet, carpets/rugs/lino, hat stand, chair, chest of drawers, computers and attachments, cot, curtain poles/pelmets/blinds.
Items that we will not collect include:
Any building materials, any car parts, oils, asbestos, baths and panels, batteries, fixtures and fittings, panes of glass, hardcore, paint, chemicals, gas bottles, boilers, commercial waste, creosote, dog kennels/hutches, doors, garden waste, fluorescent tubes, swings/children's outdoor play equipment, pressurised canisters, toilets, water tanks, window frames, engines, fertiliser, fire surrounds, fitted bedroom furniture, garden furniture (including children's) and implements, hearths, kitchen units, laminate flooring.
Any household items that are not taken as part of this bulky waste service may be taken for disposal/recycling to the Household Waste Recycling Centre, West Marsh Road Spalding. Please note: Hard core is currently restricted to one 'dustbin' full per day at the Centre.
How much will it cost?
A charge of £25 is made for the collection of up to 3 large/bulky items prior to collection.
This chargeĀ is non-refundable.
How long will the whole process take?
Once you have paid for your Bulky Collection, our Customer Service Advisors will book a collection date (this will be on your normal refuse collection day). The exception to the above is the removal of "White Goods" (see above for list) which will only be collected on a Friday.
The Refuse Collection team need 48 hours notice of each collection however there may be occasions where due to the number of bookings arranged, we may need to schedule your collection for the week following. Please book early if your removal date is urgent.
Please have your item(s) out at the point where you normally leave your refuse sacks before 7am on your day of collection.
Please note that we can not remove items from inside your property. If you are disabled or have other medical circumstances which prevent you from putting these items out at your curtilage, please let us know this when you book. We will then be able to consider your case individually and possibly arrange for you to complete a disclaimer to allow us to collect the item from a more convenient place. Alternatively, you may have a neighbour, friend or family member that could help you.

Common Questions
Q. I do not want to pay for these items to be taken, what other options do I have?
A. You may take household waste items to the Household Waste Recycling Centre on West Marsh Road, Spalding. Alternatively if the items are in good condition please contact The South Holland Community Furniture Recycling Project on 01775 711171.
Q. How long have you been charging for large items to be collected?
A. The charge has been in place since 1st April 2003.
