How we provide this service

Refuse collection policy is supported by Community & Neighbourhood Services, Waste Services.

The Council is responsible for the collection and disposal of household refuse.

We will:

• collect your refuse on the same day each week (with the exception of Christmas, New Year and Bank Holidays)
• advertise well in advance any changes to the collection service within the South Holland Now magazine which is delivered to all properties in South Holland.
• provide facilities for recycling waste

You can help us by:

• putting the refuse out to the edge of your property for emptying. Special arrangements can be made if you are unable to do this.
• making sure refuse sacks are tied.
• making sure that when you request removal of large items, these items are easily accessible on the day we have arranged to collect them.
• using the recycling facilities and composting garden waste at home or at the Household Waste Recycling Centre.

This is a vital service that makes the area a healthy, safe and clean place to live.
