How we provide this service

Disposal sites for household waste is supported by Community & Neighbourhood Services, Waste Services.

In addition to the weekly kerbside collections, there are also a number of sites for householders to dispose/recycle/compost their waste.

Household Waste Recycling Centre

The Lincolnshire County Council 'HWRC' provides opportunity to dispose of all household waste and recycle plastics, cans, glass, paper and cardboard, car batteries, furniture, wood and green waste.

This site, at West Marsh Road, Spalding, is open 7 days a week. Opening times are:

Winter (October to March)
8am-4pm every day

Summer (April to September)
8am-6pm Monday to Friday
8am-4pm Saturday and Sunday

Please note: This site is closed Christmas Day and Boxing day.

The 'Saturday Morning Services' (waste skips).

These are sites (operated 10 months each financial year) within the district where residents can take their household and garden waste for disposal.

Improvements have been made to the Saturday morning waste facility so now any garden waste taken to the sites will go for composting where previously all waste collected at these facilities was sent to landfill.

All sites detailed below are open 8am-11am.

All following dates are provisional:

'Long Sutton, Crowland, Holbeach'

13th March 2010, 10th April 2010, 8th May 2010, 12th June 2010, 10th July 2010, 14th August 2010, 11th September 2010, 9th October 2010, 13th November 2010, 8th January 2011, 12th March 2011.

'Donington, Sutton Bridge'

Please note: From April 2010, Sutton Bridge's Saturday Morning Service will move to Memorial Park, car park, Bridge Road.

20th March 2010, 17th April 2010, 15th May 2010, 19th June 2010, 17th July 2010, 21st August 2010, 18th September 2010, 16th October 2010, 20th November 2010, 15th January 2011, 19th March 2011.

'Gedney Hill'

17th April 2010, 19th June 2010, 21st August 2010, 16th October 2010, 20th November 2010, 15th January 2011.

Recycling sites

There are 29 small recycling sites in the South Holland District where you may take glass, cans, textiles and paper. Please see recycling - disposal sites (link at bottom of page).
