What to do to get this service
What happens if I get behind with my payments?
If you have difficulty paying your rent, please contact us for help. If you fall into arrears, it is very important to make contact with us so that we may come to an arrangement to clear the arrears.
The sooner we know about any problems you are having in paying your rent, the easier it will be for us to help you.
The action we take if tenants fail to pay their rent:
- We will write, phone or visit you to make an arrangement for you to repay what you owe.
- If the amount you owe increases and you do not contact us, we will serve you with a Notice of Intention to Seek Possession of your home - this is the first step in legal proceedings.
- If there is still no reduction in the amount you owe we will seek a court order for possession of your home.
This action will be taken if you don't let us know that you are having difficulties or fail to keep to an agreed payment plan.
