Lindsey Holmes joins the team for three months courtesy of a grant from The Costume Society, a fund that is administered by London's world famous Victoria and Albert Museum. Lindsey will be conducting some in-depth studies on a select number of items from the Museum's costume collection. Lindsey has great experience of recreating historical costume from original garments for performance purposes, and the results of her work will be displayed in the Museum by the end of the year.
Alice Robotham starts work at Ayscoughfee in September on a long term student placement from Nottingham Trent University's MA course in Heritage Management. Alice is a Positive Action Trainee, and her placement at Ayscoughfee comes as a result of a three-way initiative between the Museum, NTU and Lincolnshire County Council. Alice has done extensive work on the Black History Archive in London.
Councillor Nick Worth, South Holland District Council's Portfolio holder for Leisure and Tourism, welcomes the two new staff members:
"I'm delighted that Ayscoughfee's staff will be bolstered by the arrival of these two important staff members. It emphasises how successful the Museum has been in acquiring funding for special projects like these since reopening."
