And more community groups throughout South Holland are being urged to come along and help improve their chances of a funding boost at a free workshop.
Advice will be offered on how to submit a successful application with guest presenter Kelly Hart, from the BIG Lottery, providing tips on how to write your bid, including eligibility, and providing evidence of project needs, budgeting and outcomes.
Doug Sim, who is vice chair of Holbeach Seniors' Links and has booked a place at the workshop, said: "As a not-for-profit organisation we are dependent upon donations and grants. We are interested in attending the Lottery workshop to find out if we could apply to them for financial support to keep the organisation running."
Holbeach Seniors' Link is a South Holland group which looks after the interests of the over-55s, lobbying on their behalf and arranging meetings with guest speakers.
Organisations will also have the opportunity to ask specific questions about their projects.
The workshop, organised by South Holland District Council's Community Development Team and the BIG Lottery and supported by South Lincolnshire Community Voluntary Service, will take place on 8th December from 10am to 12.30pm at the Red Lion Quarter, Crackpool Lane, Spalding.
The BIG Lottery distributes money to community groups and projects that improve health, education, the environment and community buildings. It is the largest distributor of National Lottery good cause funding and is responsible for giving out 46 per cent of the money raised for good causes by the National Lottery.
