The Quick Fit Scheme will tour South Holland as part of an exciting new fitness scheme launched by the District Council to encourage residents of all ages to be fit and active.
The Virtual gym, along with a Fitness Advisor, will be in a set location for around 12 weeks. During the 12 week period people taking part will be made aware and sign posted to other activities to ensure each person stays active once the Quick Fit Scheme has moved on. The Quick Fit Scheme equipment is state of the art and tailor made for people that don't exercise. Sessions are very enjoyable and socially interactive.
The Council's Sports Development Officer, Dan Matson said there are real issues surrounding health and access to health improvement services in certain parts of the District and the Council is working hard to address this: "We must encourage more people to take part in physical activity. By taking the fitness suite directly to our communities and by laying on special activities, run by professional people, I believe we can make a real and positive difference to the health and well being of our residents."
The Quick Fit Scheme is currently in Holbeach at Holbeach youth centre, there are four sessions per week which take place on a Tuesday and Thursday. It will be starting at Quadring Church hall on Tuesday 30th September and run every Tuesday and Friday 5pm - 7pm.
