Sports Development

The Economic and Community development service is designed to improve the health, economic well-being and quality of life for all South Holland residents.

We assist the development of strong local communities through the provision of high quality services and opportunities for active and passive leisure pursuits.

The Economic and Community development team has many key service areas; one of these key areas is Sports Development.

We play a central role in supporting the vitality and cohesiveness of life in South Holland.

The Sport Development Officer is committed to identifying sporting needs of individuals, communities and organisations, with the aim of providing a sports development structure that facilitates clear and accessible pathways for participation, enabling all South Holland residents the opportunity to lead an active and healthy lifestyle through taking part in sport, leisure, and active recreation.

We aim to work in partnership with other key agencies, voluntary groups and sports associations to increase opportunities for all.

We aim to tackle many key areas including:

  • Inequality
  • Rural isolation
  • Social exclusion
  • Health
  • Regeneration
  • Community safety
