South Holland Symphony

The London Mozart Players (LMP) became South Holland's resident orchestra in May 2008 due to a partnership between LMP, Orchestras Live and South Holland District Council. Since then the LMP have enjoyed numerous successful visits hosting concerts in community venues across the district and visiting schools and residential homes through their education programme.

Following a successful bid to the Arts Council the LMP have visited the district six more times in 2012 giving community concerts and encouraging the community to contribute to a brand new piece of music, a South Holland Symphony.

This new project is funded by Arts Council England, Orchestras Live, The Steel Charitable Trust and South Holland District Council. Professional composer Duncan Chapman has worked with communities to produce a new Symphony. Artist and animator Reza Ben Gajra has been working with children, young people and families to create animated visuals which will be shown alongside the symphony.

The World Premiere of the South Holland Symphony took place at the South Holland Centre on 19th July.
