This year the Spalding Pumpkin Festival celebrates its 10th Anniversary.

The week long festivities start on Saturday 2nd October 2010 with a 'Family Fun Day' at the Castle Playing Field - centred around the finals of the "Pumpkin Throwing Competition".

Activities will be programmed around the district to take place throughout the following week (Sunday 3rd October - Thursday 7th October).

Saturday 2nd October
Kicks off the 10th Anniversary to this award winning festival, celebrating “local horticulture and harvest”.  After great success and support of the ‘2009 Mechanical Championships’, Saturday 2nd October will welcome the newest entrants and their pumpkin propelling creations to the Castle Playing Field Spalding; all with the hope of flying away with the winners Golden Cup.

Secondary schools will be battling it out to create the ultimate pumpkin projector.  This year sees the introduction of a 'Business' category, therefore, if you are interested in designing the ultimate propelling machine why not enter your own team?!!

Sunday 3rd - Thursday 7th October
This week long programme of entertainment and activities will be hosted in and around the Spalding area.  From cookery classes and carving to mask decorating and music.  Something for everyone, however you want to celebrate.

Friday 8th October
The culminating finale of celebrations will take place throughout the Spalding Town Centre and surrounding streets during this entire day’s event. Not only will there be the fireworks set to soar and dazzle, the whole community will be welcomed, involved and overall captivated with this year's exciting array of performances stretching from stage to Sheep Market.  Once again, families will be invited to bring along their carved pumpkins and take part in the annual Parade.

The Spalding “Pumpkin Festival” is sponsored by David Bowman’s Ltd and Nationwide Produce Plc and supported by the Spalding Welland Centenary Rotary and the Spalding Lions.
