Housing Benefit

If you are liable to pay rent and have a low income, you may be entitled to Housing Benefit.

Whether you are entitled to Housing Benefit depends on who is in your household, your circumstances and your income and capital.

If you are already in receipt of Housing Benefit, you may also be receiving Council Tax Benefit. The Council Tax Benefit scheme ended on 31 March 2013. This was replaced by Council Tax Support. For more information about this or how to apply for Council Tax Support, please read the Council Tax Support section.
