We set up ‘South Holland Homes’ because affordable homes are desperately needed in our district and working this way means that we can access Government funding pots which were previously closed to us. Six properties will be completed this summer for social rent – 4 two bedroom homes at Tydd St Mary and 2 three bedroom homes at Deeping St Nicholas.
The Government’s Homes and Communities Agency gave us £178,000 for our Tydd St Mary project and £89,000 for the Deeping St Nicholas scheme on top of other funding. In the future any income from rent or sales will be ploughed back in to the company.
In addition, eight two-bed roomed houses in Pinchbeck are being transferred from the Council to the company. The company will refurbish these homes and sell them to local people. This new initiative will mean that the proceeds from the sales can be re-invested by the company into new affordable housing.
The council will shortly be selling 8 two bedroom homes in Pinchbeck. Situated close to the River Glen and only a fifteen minute walk to the village shops, these properties are in a great location.
The houses are being marketed exclusively to Council tenants before anyone else. For sale at £70,000 (subject to negotiations) these energy efficient two bedroom homes include a separate dining room and allocated off road parking. The properties have recently been fully redecorated and are an ideal opportunity to allow First Time Buyers onto the property ladder.
These homes are great value for money and unlike Right to Buy, there are no terms and conditions involved when reselling.
