New planning policies implemented by the Council have resulted in a large increase in the number of rented homes being built across the District, for which the Council nominates tenants from its Housing Register (waiting list).
There are many new housing developments within South Holland that contain affordable rented properties.
To be nominated for one of these properties, you must be on the Council's housing register. Application forms for the register are available from reception at the Council Offices, or can be downloaded from the Housing Allocation Information section of the website.
EM HomeBuy, an agency sponsored by the Government, enables first time buyers to buy and live in their own home. They work alongside Registered Social Landlords to provide a 'one stop shop' advice service about Low Cost Home Ownership schemes.
EM HomeBuy are currently piloting a scheme, Rent to HomeBuy, which allows people to rent a property and purchase it at a later date when they have saved a deposit up.
