The provision of new affordable housing is a top priority for South Holland District Council. We are always keen to discuss ways to deliver affordable housing with land owners, developers and agents.
The Council works in partnership with housing associations to deliver affordable housing in South Holland.
Our Sub-Regional Strategic Housing Market Assessment shows supply, demand and need in the housing market and has recently been updated to reflect the impact of the recession.
The Council’s Supplementary Planning Document on Affordable Housing sets out the planning requirements for affordable housing including schemes available and the process involved.
Our Affordable Housing Delivery Plan sets out how we will enable the delivery of affordable homes over the next two years.
Our Local Plan sets out the planning policies which guide and control new development in the District. Policies HS 8 & 9 focus specifically on affordable housing.
We aim for the delivery of high standards of design and good place-making through the national standard for well-designed homes and neighbourhoods, Building for Life. This standard sets out ways that housing design can improve social wellbeing and quality of life by reducing crime, improving public health, easing transport problems and increasing property values.
