Enforcement Policy

South Holland District Council has produced the Planning Enforcement Policy to set out clearly the approach it will take in relation to planning enforcement.

The Council takes the enforcement of planning control very seriously. It also has an on-going commitment to improving its services to the people of South Holland. During the last year a Task Group of members have been looking in detail at planning enforcement with a view to preparing a comprehensive policy relating to this important and often controversial aspect of planning.

TheĀ Planning Enforcement Policy sets out the approach that the Council will take in relation to planning enforcement; it includes a summary of relevant legislation, a clear breakdown of the enforcement process itself and the priority which the Council will give to handling particular types of breach. The aim of the document is to provide all those who come into contact with planning enforcement a clear understanding of the process and how they can expect to be treated by the Council.
