Water Cycle Study

The three councils of South Holland District, Rutland County and South Kesteven District, who make up the Peterborough (partial) Housing Market Area, have worked jointly to produce an Outline Water Cycle Study.

The Outline study consists of a Key Constraints Assessment, a Planning Summary and a Technical Report (see below). In due course a Detailed Water Cycle Study (WCS) will be required to inform the identification of sites for development to be included in the Council's Core Strategy Development Plan Document.

The WCS aims to identify a clear programme of required water services infrastructure and its implementation to support the delivery of sustainable growth up to 2026. The WCS tests the impact of the proposed development on the water cycle, defines the existing baseline capacity for growth without the need for new infrastructure and determines where new infrastructure or further investigation is required to overcome constraints that may limit the required growth levels in the study area as a result of new water services infrastructure.
