Public Enquiry
A Public Inquiry has been held to enable the Council to have unresolved objections to the Local Plan examined by a Planning Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State.
During the course of the Local Plan Inquiry the Council has agreed to propose further changes to the Plan. These 'Inquiry Changes' have been published on this website and there has been opportunity for you to comment on them.
The deadline for comments on Changes shown in Edition 1 was Friday 24 February 2006. The deadline for comments on Changes shown in Edition 2 was Friday 3 March 2006. The deadline for comments on Changes shown in Edition 3 was Friday 17 March 2006. The deadline for comments on Inquiry Change 99 was 22 March.
Comments received were forwarded to the Inspector holding the Inquiry, together with the Council's response.

The Inquiry opened formally at 10am on Thursday 5 January 2006 at South Holland District Council and formally closed at 12.00pm on Friday 28th April 2006.

Appendix from the PIM Minutes
Inspector
Mr Brian Rogers BA Hons DipTP and Mr Robert Sexton BSc(Hons) DipTP MRTPI have been appointed as Inspectors for the Local Plan Inquiry. Their role is to consider duly made objections and produce a report for the Council giving his recommendations for action on each objection, either made at the Inquiry or by written representation. This report will be binding on the Council.
Programme Officer
The Inquiry process was administered by the Programme Officer, Mrs Marie Coles. Mrs Coles is independent from the Council, and works directly to the Inspector. Any correspondence or other queries should be directed to her at the Inquiry Office.

South Holland Local Plan Topic Papers
These topic papers have been produced by the Council to assist the Local Plan Inquiry. The purpose of the topic papers is to explain the background to, and therefore justify, the policies in these key areas contained in the RLP in order to assist the Inspector and others in the consideration of objections to these policies.
