Local Plan/Local Development Framework

Important Notice - Changes to Local Plan Policies

The South Holland District Council Local Plan sets out the planning policies which will guide and control new development in the District until 2021, encouraging the economy to grow and allowing more housing to be built as part of a balanced strategy.

You can view the Local Plan statement and maps online - opens in new window. Below, please find links to other useful information regarding the Plan.

The new system of Local Development Frameworks (LDFs) will replace Local Plans in due course.

The LDF will be presented as a loose leaf folder that will contain the planning policy documents.  This will ensure these documents can be updated and amended easily.  On the 6th July the Government announce the revocation of Regional Strategies with immediate effect.  Therefore, the Development Plan for the District now consists of the saved policies in the South Holland Local Plan 2006.  This will be replaced by the LDF in due course.
