Note 1 - The applicant is the person on whose behalf the work is being carried out, for example, the building's owner, and correspondence address.

This does not apply to domestic premises, however, common areas of flats fall under the above legislation. Any application relating to any of the above instances will require a Full Plans Application.
Note 7 - Once the application has been submitted, work may start after 48 hours, providing you advise the Building Control Department that work is to be commenced. A telephone call to the Building Control section is sufficient.

Note 9 - Section 16 of the Building Act 1984 provides for plans to be passed subject to conditions. The conditions may specify modifications to the deposited plans or require further plans to be deposited, or sometimes both. Please indicate your preference accordingly.
Note 10 - Local authorities must give a decision within five weeks from the date of submission; we normally achieve this. However, we sometimes have to extend the period, with agreement, to two calendar months from the date of deposit. If you agree to this extension, please indicate your agreement in the box provided.
Note 11 - Descriptions of the building's use such a 'Residential' will suffice, but more specific identification can be used if required, i.e. Garage to Dining Room etc.
Note 12 - Although the form states 'signature', by inserting your name you are agreeing to the statement as defined in Note 8 (Full Plans) or Note 22 (Building Notice).
Note 13 - Subject to certain parts of the Public Health Act 1936, owners and occupiers of premises are entitled to have their private foul and surface water drains and sewers connected to the public sewers, where available. Special arrangements apply to trade effluent discharge. If you want to make either of these connections, you must give at least 21 days notice to Anglian Water as the sewering authority.
Note 14 - If you propose to erect the building or extension over a sewer or drain shown on the map of public sewers, provide details of the precautions to be taken. We will need to consult Anglian Water in these circumstances.
Note 15 - If you propose to erect a building or extension within 3 metres of a sewer or drain shown on the map of public sewers, then a Full Plans application will be required.
Note 16 - Where Part B (Fire Safety) imposes a requirement in relation to proposed building work, the deposited plans must show compliance with the requirements. This does not apply to dwelling houses.
Note 17 - LABC Services provides a Partner Authority Scheme and also National Type Approval for a range of building types, building systems and major building elements where they are used repeatedly. If this proposal is to use the Partnering Scheme, please answer YES and provide further details including the name of the Partner Authority. If the work proposed, or any part of it, is subject to a LANTAC approval, please answer YES and enclose a copy of the appropriate current certificate(s). If there is any variation in this proposal from that shown on the LANTAC type approved plans, please highlight this in a covering letter.

Note 18 - A Full Plans Submission attracts charges payable by the person whom, or on whose behalf the work is to be done. Charges are payable in two stages. The first charge (Plan Charge) must accompany the deposit of the plans. The second charge is payable after the first inspection of work in progress. The second charge is a single payment for each individual building and covers all site visits and consultations which may be necessary until the work is satisfactorily completed.
Note 19 - A Building Notice attracts charges payable by the person by whom or on whose behalf the work is to be done. Charges payable must accompany the application in respect of each individual building and covers all site inspections which may be necessary until the work is satisfactorily completed.
Note 20 - A Regularisation application must be accompanied by the appropriate fee. This is charged at a rate of the normal net fee payable, had the works not already been carried out, plus 20%. VAT is not payable.
Plans and particulars should be submitted with the application, indicating the works which have been carried out.
Note 21 - In accordance with Building Regulation 13a, the Council may require an applicant to take such reasonable steps, including laying open the unauthorised work for inspection, making tests and taking samples as the authority think appropriate.
