South Holland District Council offers the opportunity for members of the public to speak at our 5 weekly Cabinet Meeting.
The purpose of the scheme is to provide any member of the public with an opportunity to ask Cabinet members a question on any matter within their area of responsibility.
The period allowed for questions to Cabinet members shall be limited to a maximum of 30 minutes at each meeting of the Cabinet, to be divided equally between the number of people wanting to ask a question, subject to no more than 5 public speakers attending a meeting.
Following a response to a question the member of the public will be permitted to ask a supplementary question and make a statement. Following the response from the Cabinet member to this further supplementary question, statements or comments from the member of the public or other Cabinet members will be permitted at the Chairman's discretion within the time allotted to the item.
All speakers will be requested to complete a feedback questionnaire following the meeting.
The notification must specify the nature of the question, but not necessarily the specific question, and the person's interest in the matter, and must be received by the Member Services Team at the Council Offices by no later than 2 hours prior to the start of the meeting.
More information can be found within the Council's Constitution,
