Part 2: Information Classes

This Publication Scheme aims to make as much of our information as possible readily accessible to the public, on a continuous basis. We are committed to releasing more material in the future.

South Holland District Council will make available information within the information classes described below. Information falling into the classes will be retained in accordance with our Disposal Schedule that complies with guidance issued by The National Archive.

South Holland District Council has adopted a model Scheme developed nationally for local authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The type of information provided through this Scheme by South Holland District Council will be similar to what is available from other local authorities.

Under each Class can be found a brief description of information that is available to you.

We will publish material under the following Information Classes

How we make decisions: In the class you will find the following types of information:

  • Policy proposals and decisions.
  • Decision making processes, internal criteria and procedures, consultations, timetable of council meetings.
  • Agendas, officers' reports, background papers and minutes of council committee, sub committee and standing forum meetings.

Lists and Registers: In the class you will find the following types of information:

  • Information held in registers required by law and other lists and registers relating to the functions of the authority.
  • Register of electors.

Our policies and procedures: In the class you will find the following types of information:

  • Current written protocols for delivering our functions and responsibilities.
  • Policies and procedures for conducting council business.
  • Policies and procedures for delivering our services.
  • Policies and procedures about the recruitment and employment of staff.
  • Customer service.

The Services we Offer: In the class you will find the following types of information:

  • Advice and guidance, booklets and leaflets, transactions and media releases.
  • A description of the services offered.
  • Election information.
  • Regulatory and licensing responsibilities.
  • Services for local businesses.
  • Services for other organisations.
  • Services for members of the public.
  • Information for visitors to the area, leisure information, events, museums, libraries and archive collections.
  • Leaflets, booklets and newsletters.
  • Advice and guidance.
  • Media releases.

What our priorities are and how we are doing: In the class you will find the following types of information:

  • Strategy and performance information, plans, assessments, inspections and reviews.
  • Best value local performance plan.
  • District auditor's reports on the best value performance plan and performance indicators.
  • Comprehensive performance assessment.
  • Inspection reports.
  • Statistical information produced in accordance with the council's and departmental requirements.

What we spend and how we spend it: In the class you will find the following types of information:

  • Financial information relating to projected and actual income and expenditure, tendering, procurement and contracts.

Who we are and what we do: In the class you will find the following types of information:

  • Organisational information, locations and contacts, constitutional and legal governance.
  • Most recent election results
