We are working hard to limit the opportunity for fraud and will take action against those who try to defraud us.
If you have any concerns about suspected fraud or corruption within or against the council we would like to hear from you.
Here are some of the types of fraud and corruption that investigators at the council may be interested in knowing about.
- Housing - Tenants obtaining a council house using false information; not living at their council property - subletting it; falsely obtaining the right to buy.
- Insurance - Bogus insurance claims - people falsely claiming injury as a result from a trip or falls on council property.
- Corruption - Employees using their position to influence the award of contract; securing a job for a family member; remaining on sick leave but working elsewhere.
