Statement of Accounts - Compact

All councils have to produce an annual Statement of Accounts, to demonstrate that the council has used public money legally and responsibly. The document has to report in some detail on a wide range of financial topics, and it is easy to lose sight of the overall picture.

These accounts have no formal legal standing because the figures have been modified, but I believe they give a fair if simplified view of South Holland District Council's financial position. I would like to hear your views on whether they are a useful addition to our financial reporting.
