Equality Impact Assessments

An Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) - example EIA summary (PDF, 14KB) - is a way we can thoroughly examine the effects of our policies, functions and services and look at the impact it could have, or currently does have on different people. They are a way of reviewing our work and setting equality objectives. EIAs are a legal requirement under the various equality legislation but the real value of completing them is to constantly improve our services.

We want to make sure that our services, policies and functions do not directly or indirectly discriminate and that they meet the needs of people in our community.  If you would like to be consulted with on our equality objectives and help inform our Equality Impact Assessments please contact us using the Equality and Diversity Feedback Form (PDF, 8KB)

All our services and functions will be subject to Equality Impact Assessment and the findings and supporting action plans will be published on this site by service.  The impact assessments themselves are available on request.
