We have published a
Generic Equality Scheme (PDF, 144KB) which states how the Council will improve its performance in relation to its duties under equalities legislation. This Scheme is overseen by the Corporate Equalities Working Group. The
action plan for this scheme for 2010 /11 (PDF, 45KB)has also been published. The Council's Generic Equality Scheme will be revised in light of the new Equality Act 2010. Our Equality Objectives need to be looked at and commented on by community members to make sure that they are meeting the needs of the community. The aim of our
Equality Policy (PDF, 32KB) is to promote equality of opportunity and fair treatment for our customers, Elected Members, our staff, job applicants, our partners and any people that we come into contact with during the course of our day to day business.
